Welcome to Workunit. These terms govern your use of our service. By using Workunit, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please don't use the service.
The Agreement
Binding Contract
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Workunit. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and have the authority to enter into this agreement. If you're accepting on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You're responsible for maintaining account security and for all activities under your account.
The Service
What We Provide
Workunit provides context-persistent project management and AI-assisted collaboration tools. Features vary by subscription tier (Free, Pro, Team).
Service Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We'll inform you of material changes affecting your use of the service.
Availability
We aim for 90%+ uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
Beta Features
Some features may be marked as beta or experimental. These are provided as-is and may change or be discontinued without notice.
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Violate laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Harass, abuse, or harm others using the service
- Distribute spam, malware, or harmful content
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the service
- Use automated tools without permission (scraping, bots)
- Resell or redistribute the service without authorization
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Your Content & Data
Ownership
You retain all rights to content you upload to Workunit. We don't claim ownership of your workunits, assets, or data.
License to Us
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the service. This license ends when you delete your account.
Your Responsibility
You're responsible for ensuring you have rights to upload content. You warrant that your content doesn't infringe others' rights or violate laws.
Backup Your Data
While we maintain backups, you're responsible for maintaining your own backups. We're not liable for data loss.
Intellectual Property
Workunit Property
Workunit and its features, including design, code, and trademarks, are our property or our licensors'. All rights reserved.
Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Workunit for its intended purpose during your subscription.
Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you. Feedback doesn't grant you any rights.
Payment & Billing
Payment Processor
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
Subscription Plans
Pro and Team plans are billed monthly or annually. Per-seat pricing means you pay for each active user. See our pricing page for current rates.
Free Trial
New organizations receive a 14-day Pro trial. No credit card required. When the trial ends, your account automatically downgrades to the Free tier. Your data is preserved and you can upgrade anytime.
Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You'll be charged at the then-current rate. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings.
Seat Changes (Per-Seat Plans)
Adding seats: When you add seats mid-billing cycle, you'll be charged immediately for the prorated amount for the remainder of the current period.
Removing seats: When you remove seats, the change takes effect at your next billing date. No credits or refunds are issued for seat reductions.
Refund Policy
Monthly Subscriptions
If you cancel a monthly subscription, you'll receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your current billing period. Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are non-refundable. By choosing annual billing, you commit to the full year. We may, at our sole discretion, offer partial refunds or credits in exceptional circumstances.
Service Credits
3615 Computer may, at its discretion, issue account credits for service disruptions, billing errors, or goodwill gestures. Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and expire after 12 months.
How to Request a Refund
Contact us at [email protected] with your account email and reason for the refund request. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
Payment Failures & Disputes
Payment Failures
If your payment fails, access to paid features is restricted immediately. We'll notify you via email with instructions to update your payment method. Once payment is successful, access is restored automatically.
Billing Disputes
Please contact us first. If you believe you've been charged in error or have questions about a charge, email [email protected] before disputing with your bank or card issuer. We're committed to resolving billing issues quickly. Filing a chargeback without contacting us first may result in account suspension.
Data After Cancellation
When you cancel or downgrade, your data is preserved indefinitely. You can re-subscribe at any time and regain access to your existing workunits, assets, and projects. We don't hold your data hostage.
Termination
By You
You may delete your account anytime from settings. Paid subscriptions remain active until the end of the billing period.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity. We'll provide notice when reasonably possible.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use Workunit ends immediately. Your data will be deleted per our privacy policy (within 30 days).
Warranties & Liability
Disclaimer of Warranties
Workunit is provided \"as is\" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Workunit is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Workunit against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
AI Features
How AI Works
Workunit uses AI to provide suggestions, analyze patterns, and assist with context management. AI processes your workunit data but doesn't train on it or share it.
AI Accuracy
AI suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete. You're responsible for reviewing AI outputs before using them. Don't rely on AI for critical decisions without verification.
Opt-Out
You can disable AI features while maintaining access to core PM functionality. AI opt-out doesn't reduce subscription costs.
General Terms
Governing Law
These terms are governed by US law. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in [jurisdiction].
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Entire Agreement
These terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Workunit.
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
Assignment
You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations.
